It's so good to be back here! I have missed blogging although I have to say that the break was JUST what I needed. I feel less overwhelmed and more in control of every day things. I feel connected with my family and my home.
And how are you doing? Did you have a lovely Christmas? I certainly do hope so. Ours was busy in that we had lots of singing - as choirs do at this time of year. But I loved it!
At the beginning of December I had a little list of things that I wanted to achieve for the month. Nothing to hectic as I was not in the best frame of mind. Simple things like visit a Christmas market ...
We caught a train into Exeter to visit the Christmas Market there. It was set up at the foot of the cathedral - quite a backdrop!
Make a wreath for my shed door...
I love looking out of my kitchen window and seeing it hanging cheerily on the shed door.
Spend some time in the garden and plant a few Hellebore's (Christmas Rose) in the garden. I just LOVE this winter flowering plant. As it so happens the owner of our house must have too because after I got home from the garden centre with my Hellebore plants I noticed that there were 4 well established plants already. All I needed to do was prune away the black spotted diseased leaves and reveal the flowers.
I had 'Knit some baubles' on my list but that never happened, I have joined in with Little Bobbins Christmas Eve cast on though and am thoroughly enjoying knitting some Christmassy socks.
St. Stephens Day, or Boxing Day we took a lovely long walk along the beach. We have finally found a beach that is fairly easy to get to. Here in Devon teeny tiny country roads are par for the course, and they terrify us LOL. Most beaches can only be reached by driving down these little roads, but we have found at least one that was not difficult to reach. I think we are going to explore some Cornish beaches in the new year.
We got blown to bids on the beach which was wonderfully invigorating! After doing a bit of beach combing we popped into a little coffee shop right on the beach and had a nice hot coffee.
So December has been good. Restful, peaceful and surprisingly relaxing. Only two more days until 2016 and I am ready and feeling inspired to tackle it head on :)
I hope that you are feeling the same, ready to embrace an exciting new year full of promise! I have a few things to show you before then however so I'll see you back here tomorrow. Wishing you all a peaceful Tuesday...
